squeaky

Some of my greatest joys are in all things that are clean.  I love shine.  I love the smell of sterilization.  I love freshness.  These things bring me a high.  It soothes me, (soothes me).  If nothing else, giving things a good cleaning is a gosh-darn-great workout.

I feel fine about being a neat freak.  I feel okay with my nerves not settling until I clean.  I'm not high-strung.  I'm just hygienic.  My brain is wired that way.

It's undiagnosed, but I have my theories:
  • I'm a middle child.  And let's just blame everything weird about me on that.
  • My mother.  She was right.  You can't feel peace in a messy house.  It's just a fact.  Messes = stresses.  And I have enough of those.
  • If I have no control over anything else in my life, I always know that at least I have control over how clean or messy my house is.  It gets my mind off things I can't do anything about.  Some people get drunk, I fight grime.
How thankful I am, today, to love cleanliness.

Remember when we used to mop the kitchen floor at williams airforce base... while we listened to music! :) the only time I enjoy mopping.

  2. I am the same way, and I am the last kid...so, I don't know what that means. :P I sometimes get so creeped out by messes that I obsess over it until I clean everything. E V E R Y T H I N G...I think being OCD clean is okay. :)

  3. It's true you can't find peace in a mess! I feel the same way. I try to control the clutter and keep things clean, sometimes it does get out of control, tough. No one's perfect...

If you can't say something nice, say it behind my back.
