I came across this really good stuffed french toast recipe.
I don't remember where, but it's not a new concept.
It's super simple, and I don't know why I haven't tried it before.
2 Eggs
1/4 milk
1/4 t. salt
Day old bread
(I used the dollar cinnamon swirl bread from Smith's. Not day old, but sturdy and I think it made them that much better.)
Strawberry jam
(I used homemade cuz it's more awesome.)
Powdered sugar
Nutella
All you're gonna do is make a jam sandwich...
Cut 'em into strips.
Whip up your french toast goo.
And fry them up in a little butter, making sure to fry all 6 sides.
I fried 'em in an iron skillet, cuz that's more awesome too.
Then slather with Nutella and powdered sugar.
...Which I didn't take any pictures of cuz by the time they were finished, I was drooling all over the place and couldn't be bothered with such things.
Just another reason it's good to be a grown-up...
...if I want a sugar-filled confection for dinner,
I can have it.
I can have it.
That looks so yummy!
